Lee Health’s Healthy Life Center offers everything from balance screenings to a cooking demonstration in April
The Healthy Life Center at Coconut Point continues to offer health and wellness programming aimed at educating, encouraging and inspiring people to live a healthier lifestyle. Some of the classes planned in April include fitness apps for your Apple device, retina eye diseases, balance screenings, finding hope for living well with Parkinson’s disease and advances in the diagnosis and treatment of shoulder pain. 6th annual Breaking Par at Grandezza
The 6th annual Breaking Par at Grandezza starts on Saturday, April 21, with a gala dinner at 5:30 p.m. featuring live and silent auctions and honored guest of honor Dr. Michael Martin, president of Florida Gulf Coast University. A shotgun scramble will be held at 8:30 a.m., Sunday, April 22, followed by an awards luncheon and the chance to win prizes.
All proceeds from the event will fund Junior Achievement’s flagship program CEO Academy – a week-long business school summer camp held for rising high school juniors and seniors in partnership with Florida Gulf Coast University, as well as other Junior Achievement programs. Tickets for the Saturday gala dinner and Sunday golf tournament and awards luncheon are $175. Tickets for the Saturday gala dinner only are $65. National Day of Prayer
An Estero National Day of Prayer, led by pastors of Estero houses of worship, will be held at noon – 1 p.m., Thursday, May 3, at the Legacy Church. The program will include worship music, scripture reading and prayer. Legacy Church is located at 21115 Design Parc Lane, across Corkscrew Road from the Village Hall. The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.
