Katy Errington
President
Katy Errington is the current President/CEO of the Greater Estero Chamber of Commerce. With a wealth of experience in public service and community development, Katy brings a unique perspective to her role.
Prior to her position at the Chamber, Katy served as the mayor of the Village of Estero, where she played a crucial role in shaping the community's growth and progress. She has recently been appointed to the FGCU President's Advisors Circle on WorkForce and Economic Development, further demonstrating her commitment to fostering collaboration between academia, government and the business community in Southwest Florida and beyond.
Katy's extensive background includes serving on the board of the Florida League of Mayors and chairing the Lee County Metropolitan Planning Organization and Executive Committee. She has also held various roles in business, marketing, and education, including as an adjunct college professor, where she worked closely with students and businesses to develop entrepreneurial, marketing and career education and technical training skills.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Katy has made a significant impact through her involvement in nonprofit organizations. She is the former founder and president of a children's nonprofit organization, which she created after the loss of her son and 11 other men in a U.S. Air Force Special Ops military helicopter accident while on a training mission in Utah. The purpose of the nonprofit was aimed to bring joy to children in need through coloring/storybooks. Additionally, Katy has served as a marketing coordinator for a faith-based international humanitarian aid and disaster relief nonprofit organization in Cincinnati.
Katy is a dedicated member of the Rotary Club of Estero and is a Past District Governor of Rotary International in southwest Ohio. She has held leadership positions as president in various community organizations, including the Exchange Club and the Rotary Club in Mason, Ohio. She was recognized as Rotarian of the Year in 2011-12.
Katy’s advocacy extends to environmental and community issues, as she has served on the boards of Interfaith Charities of south Lee County Florida and the Conservancy of Southwest Florida. She has also been involved in Estero Bay and Bay Management Committee, Koreshan State Park, and the South Florida Water Management District.
As a respected community leader, Katy is known for her strong advocacy for the historic Estero River and water quality issues in southwest Florida. She is a Florida Certified Horticultural Professional Specialist and actively contributes to the preservation of the local environment.
Katy is a devoted wife to Garth Errington with a combined family of five children and eight grandchildren. She is a Gold Star Mother, reflecting her resilience and strength in the face of personal tragedy. Katy is an elder in the Presbyterian Church and is a member of the Estero Community Church. She is a person of deep spiritual faith and tries to practice everyday, Rotary’s Four-Way Test:

In recognition of her outstanding contributions, Katy has been presented with the Rotary Club of Estero Community Service Award and awarded the Key to the City by the Village of Estero for her dedicated service as Mayor/ViceMayor /Councilmember.
With her passion for community development, dedication to service, and extensive experience, Katy continues to work tirelessly to support and strengthen the local business community.
